Four lions have contracted the novel corona virus at a wildlife park in Singapore having come in contact with infected workers at the park.

The park’s administrators disclosed that the infected lions had exhibited symptoms such as coughing and sneezing which, prompted officials to run COVID-19 test on them.

The affected lions have been placed in quarantine at the Night Safari Park with five other infected lions.

Sonya Ruth, an official of the Mandai Wildlife Group said all the lions remain bright and lively and recovery would be quick with little supportive treatment.

She however, added that humans are at very low risk of contracting the virus from the animals.
