Following the United Kingdom travel ban on Nigeria, it has been estimated that airlines operating between Nigeria and London may lose N965 million on a daily basis.

The United kingdom is believed to be the most visited country by Nigerians. Hence, a large number of Nigerians are requesting for a refund and canceling their flights since the travel ban was issued.

Based on an analytical report, an average of 3,860 passengers processed by airlines daily will amount to about N965 million revenue loss.

The report further stated that the British Airways which operates on a daily basis takes about 600 arriving travelers and 600 departing travelers on a daily return flight from London to Lagos and Abuja.

Similarly, Virgin Atlantic which operates on a daily basis takes about 700 arriving and departing travelers. This implies that the Virgin Atlantic processes up to 1,400 travelers per day.

Recall that on Saturday, the UK added Nigerians to it’s red list due to a patient with the new Omicron variant linked to Nigeria.

The directive states that any Individual coming into the UK from Nigeria won’t be allowed entry.
