Vishal Garg, CEO of mortgage company, Better.com, has disclosed over a Zoom webinar that the company is laying off about 9% (more than 900 employees) of its workforce.

The workers were informed via a webinar that their employment is being terminated.

While speaking via a Zoom webinar, the CEO disclosed to all the participants that everyone on the webinar zoom call is part of the unlucky group that is being laid off with immediate effect.

Garg stated further that the reason for the termination includes changes in market conditions as well as low performance and productivity. In a report, it was gathered that Garg accused the workers of stealing from their customers and colleagues by working two hours per day thereby rendering themselves unproductive. He further mentioned that it isn’t of his own joy to lay off the workers, noting that this action has been taken twice before and he cried the last time it happened.

Garg in a previous report had described some of the employees as too slow and embarrassing, likening them to being dumb Dolphins.
He then said employees could expect an email from HR detailing benefits and severance.
