The CEOs of the world’s two largest commercial jet makers, Boeing and Airbus, Dave Calhoun and Guillaume Faury respectively have warned against the proposed 5G wireless networks which is scheduled to commence in the US next month.

The airplane manufacturers said that the January 5 roll out could pose grave danger on the safety of aircrafts operations. The interference could affect thousands of flights each year, delaying flights or causing them to be diverted.

The companies have expressed great concern as the impact of the 5G on the industry would be massive especially as it is coming at a time when the industry is still struggling from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CEOs said that they have developed a new proposal to reduce the power of 5G transmissions near airports and urged the government to join effort with the Federal Communications Commission to adopt the plan.
