Emirates airlines has resumed operations in Nigeria after so much anticipation, making its first landing in Lagos and Abuja yesterday.

It was celebration galore at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos as the Emirates Airlines landed simultaneously to resume daily operations in Nigeria from Dubai.

Both airplanes from Dubai, EK785 to Abuja and EK 782 to Lagos, were welcomed to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Muritala Muhammed International Airport with water cannon salutes.

The Country Manager, Paulos Legesse said that the Airline is pleased to see the strong interest from customers towards bookings from the time of announcement.

He added that the service will give customers the opportunity to safely experience Emirates’ superior products and services, offering them convenient travel option to Dubai.

The aircrafts deployed to both Nigerian cities were three-class Boeing 777-300ER and it offered eight luxurious first-class suites, 42 generous business class seats and over 300 seats in the economy class.

To ensure the safety of travellers, COVID-19 PCR tests are compulsory for all travellers arriving in Dubai, including UAE citizens, residents and tourists, irrespective of the country they are coming from. Travellers coming from Nigeria must hold a negative Covid-19 PCR test certificate for a test taken no more than 72 hours before departure.

Also, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has specified designated laboratories for passengers departing Nigeria and travellers must obtain their certificates from any of the labs to be accepted on the flight. Travellers coming from Nigeria will also need to take another Covid-19 PCR test on arrival at the Dubai International Airport.
