Since the weekend, there have been series of protests, some of which turned violent, in many European countries against imposition of another COVID-19 lockdown as the continent faces new surge of Covid-19 cases.

Netherlands kicked into a three-week partial lockdown last Saturday and expressed plans to restrict unvaccinated citizens from entering certain places. This decision has led to rioting at The Hague. Reports also have it that there were riots in the town of Urk and some cities in the southern Limburg province.

Vienna police Vice President, Franz Eigner, also reported at a press conference that about 40,000 people filled the streets of Vienna on Saturday in protest against Covid-19 lockdown.

The Croatian government has also declared that from Monday, only people with COVID-19 passports would be allowed access into government premises and public buildings.
