The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched the FAAN Taxi App to facilitate effortless taxi-hailing at the airport and around the city.

The FAAN app will enable all airport taxi drivers to register on the app so that prospective passengers can call for a driver via the app. It is hoped that this will put a stop to situations where touts harass passengers, and all manners of unregulated taxi service activities.

While speaking at the launch, the FAAN managing director, Captain Rabiu Hamisi Yadudu, expressed that beyond the elimination of touting, the app would also enhance the revenue position of FAAN as loopholes will be addressed.

The Director of Security Services, Capt. Usman Abubakar Sadiq (Rtd) who represented the MD spoke further that all taxi operators would be uploaded on the app so as to be able to operate taxi services at the airport.

For more profitable business, the MD encouraged all airport taxi operators to register on the application.

The FAAN Director of Commercial and Business Development, Mr Sadiku Abdulkadir Rafindadi, while also speaking at the event said, “The App will enhance seamless passengers’ facilitation, comfort, safety and security of Nigerians using it.”

He concluded by saying the passengers could be at the airport or anywhere else and call FAAN Taxi App drivers to take them to or from the airport and even move them around town.
