To speed up construction work on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the Federal Controller of works inLagos, Mr Olukayode Popoola, has announced in a statement that starting from today, a six-day traffic diversion will commence on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Popoola expressed further that the Federal Government is committed to delivering the Lagos-Ibadan expressway way project by 2022 so there is a need to increase the speed of activities, hence the need for the diversion.

He added that the diversion is to enable the contractor handling section one of the project, Julius Berger, lay asphalt between Arepo and Warewa, a distance of one and a half kilometres.

Popoola said that the traffic diversion would be on the Lagos-bound carriageway as adequate arrangement has been put in place to avert gridlocks.
