A Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin has found an Ado-Ekiti-based man, David Oluseyi Ajewole, guilty of offenses relating to internet fraud.

Ajewole was prosecuted alongside seven others with related offences by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The presiding judge, Justice Muhammed Sani, has ordered that a Duplex atLekki, Eti-Osa Local Government, worth over N60m be forfeited to the government .

Ajewole is also to forfeit an RS 350 Lexus car worth over N6 million to the Federal Government.
All these properties were found to have been procured by the convict with the proceeds of his illegal activities.

According to reports, Ajewole pleaded guilty to all charges preferred against him.

The prosecutors, Innocent Mbachie, Sesan Ola, and Andrew Akoja tendered several materials recovered from the accused persons at the point of arrest and were all admitted as evidence.

The counsel, however, persuaded the court to consider the guilty plea of the defendants, their extra-judicial statements and evidence, as well as the provisions of the law in convicting them as charged.
