A member of the New Zealand parliament, Julie Anne, has reportedly rode on her bicycle to the hospital on Sunday while in labour and successfully gave birth to a baby an hour later.

Julie took to her facebook page to announce the birth of her new baby. She disclosed that she did not plan to cycle while in labour but she ended up doing so, saying her contractions were not so bad when she left for the hospital at 2am.

The Member of Parliament is a dual citizen of the United States and New Zealand. She was born in Minnesota in the US but moved to the pacific country in 2006.

It is widely known that the Island nation of New Zealand has a reputation for down-to-earth politicians.
Julie’s spokesperson for transport issues whose facebook profile includes “I love my bicycle” also went on her bicycle to the hospital to give birth to her first born in 2018.

Also, New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern while in office took a maternity leave and brought her three-month-old baby to a United Nations meeting as a breastfeeding mother.
