Nigeria’s federal government has declared Tuesday October 19, as public holiday to mark this year’s Eid-Ul-Mawild, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who disclosed this on behalf of the government enjoined Nigerians to abstain from all acts of criminality.

Ogbeni Aregbesola stated further that Nigerians should embrace love, patience and perservance which are the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad as this would guarantee peace and security in the country.
