Nigeria has reportedly lost ₦499.32 billion in the 200 days of Twitter ban.

It would be recalled that the Federal Government announced the ban of Twitter operations in Nigeria on the 4th of June after the social media giant deleted a post by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to a Net Blocks report, Nigeria loses ₦104.02 million for every hour that the ban existed, bringing to a total loss of ₦499.32 billion in the last 4,800 hours of the social networking site.

In the speech of President Muhammadu Buhari during the Independence Day celebration, the President expressed that the social media giant will not resume operations in the country until it is duely registered.

Efforts are underway to ensure that the ban is lifted as Twitter has reportedly agreed to the country’s terms and conditions.
