Reports from Maxime Bayen’s business database shows that since the beginning of the year, Nigerian startups have raised more than $2.9 Billion which is about 60% of African tech funding in 2021.

The US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Berth Leonard while speaking at the Nigeria Tech Summit in Abuja expressed that the US Mission will continue to do its part to support Nigeria’s tech sector and encourage the creation of an enabling environment necessary to foster the sector that will in turn launch more global businesses and contribute to a more prosperous future for all citizens.

Leonard added that it is very exciting that three of these companies: O Pay, Flutterwave and Interswitch are born and bred of Nigerian talent as she believes that Nigeria has enormous potential to do more with proper support.
