Virgil Abloh, CEO and founder of the Off-White label, has reportedly died on Sunday at the age of 41.

This was announced in a post on his verified Instagram account.


Abloh was an acclaimed menswear designer for Louis Vuitton before his death.

The deceased had privately battled with a rare form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma, since 2019 and has undergone numerous challenging treatments. Amidst all these, Abloh still retained control of various fashion and art institutions.

Abloh in his life-time had his tentacles spread far and wide, first as a fashion designer who founded the popular streetwear brand “Off-White”. He also made history as Louis Vuitton’s first Black artistic director.
While at Louis Vuitton, Abloh recreated a menswear collection which blended high fashion with streetwear.

The deceased had designed an embroidered bib which instantly went viral when it was worn by Timothee Chalamet to the Golden Globe Awards in 2019.

Late Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan, are some of the iconic figures known to have worn his clothing, on different ocassions.
