Some students of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, have invented a data capturing machine for voters’ registration exercise.
This was announced by the Rector, Dr. Woye Olaniran, during a press briefing in Osogbo where he announced the combined 7th convocation ceremony of the institution.
Dr. Olaniran claimed that the data capturing machine was one out of numerous inventions by the students and lecturers of the institution which would be exhibited as part of the activities planned for the convocation ceremony.
He further expressed that when he tested the machine, it revealed that he has been registered which reveals the effectiveness of the machine as it could detect multiple registrations.
Olaniyan added that after the school management patents the invention, it would be presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for possible collaboration.
