New opportunities have continued to emerge for the Pan-african private sector as the African Continental Free Trade Agreement began its new trading operations. The trading according to the African Business Council is a laudable effort which will promote and expand the activities of the private sector.

The AFBC disclosed that the AFCFTA is an initiative aimed at strengthing the private sector and building Africa through manufacturing, production, as well as distribution and health sector. It further stated that trading under AFCFTA will not only boost the economy and promote intra-african trade, but also create other opportunities for small and medium scale enterprises, as well as women and youths in the private sector.

According to the Interim Chair Person of the African Business Council, Dr Amany Asfour, there are many barriers ranging from stringent policies to transport products, as well as poor production and distribution of products within Africa. He stated that the barriers are hindering collaborative efforts to transform Africa.

Amany however called on all business owners, especially youths, to unite with the African Bisiness Council to implement the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.
