As the scheduled date for opening the US borders on November 8 draws near, the White House has issued a Presidential proclamation which, contains new details related to air travel and answers to questions bugging the minds of travellers.

Here are things a traveller needs to know about the policy.

*The policy allows fully vaccinated noncitizen, nonimmigrant travelers permission to enter the United States, replacing the ban and restriction that have been in place since the beginning of the pandemic.

*All FDA-approved and authorized vaccines, as well as vaccines that have an Emergency Use Listing from the WHO, will be accepted for entry into the United States.Unvaccinated Americans can be allowed to enter the United States but will face more stringent testing requirements for air travel.

*Children younger than 18 are exempt from vaccination requirements but they would be subjected to test.

*Either digital or paper proof of vaccination will be accepted as long as it meets US requirements.
