Former US President, Donald Trump, has requested that a federal judge in the US should force Twitter to restore his account, which was banned after his supporters attacked the US Capitol in January.

He added that Twitter allowed the Taliban to tweet frequently about military victories in Afghanistan but censored his term in office, labelling his post as misleading information, or indicating that he broke the company’s rules against glorifying violence.

The former US President expressed further that Twitter was coerced by members of the US Congress to suspend his account which had tens of millions followers.

Twitter and some social media platforms removed Trump from their platforms after a mob attacked the US parliament building in a January 6 riot,an event that left several people dead.

The riot occured after Trump made a speech repeating the false claim that he lost the November presidential election because of widespread fraud.
