The United Kingdom has announced that despite travel restrictions, student work visa applications will be processed. This was disclosed by the British High Commission in a statement.

It would be recalled that the UK on Sunday announced suspension of visitor visa issuance to all red list countries including Nigeria.

But in a new update, the UK said that visa application for other categories such as people who wish to study work or live permanently will continue to be processed.

The UK also said anyone who applied for a visitor visa before the travel restriction was issued, and wish to get their passports back should contact the Visa Application Centre(VAC). Such persons could either collect in person or via a courier service.

Travellers who have been in any of the countries on the red list ten days before arrival in the UK would be required to quarantine for ten days in a managed quarantine hotel.
