A dating app called Bumble which was launched by Ms. Wolfe Herd in Texas in 2014 with the backing from Russian billionaire, Andrey Andrew, has the highest market value in the listing shares with over $13bn.

The app which was created for women to make contact with potential mates had debuted at $43 apiece, valuing it at over $18 billion.

It was reported that Bumble on Thursday hit $13 billion making its founder a self-made 31 year old female billionaire.

Report also has it that Bumble which also owns Badoo is now recognized as one of less than two dozens US firms to list publicly.

In a statement made by the founder, Bumble was created to eradicate the archaic gender norms controlling dating that men must approach women. She added that she wanted to change the unequal negative impacts in relationships using the platform.
