According to a data published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), it revealed that the value of manufactured goods trade deficit has risen to N27.33tn within two years.

The NBS disclosed in its data for the Foreign Trade in Goods Statistics in the four quarters of 2020 and 2021 that manufacturing imports rose from N12.71tn in 2020 to N16.73tn in 2021, while exports rose from N960.7bn in 2020 to N1.15tn in 2021 respectively.

According to the statistics body, major components of the exported goods includes vessels and other floating structures – aluminum alloys, and other floating of submersible drilling platforms.

The body also concluded that in 2021, Nigeria exported manufactured goods majorly to Ghana, Cameroon, China, and Japan.
