Shell, has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement with the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank.

Shell has secured 240MW from Dogger Bank C which is the third and final phase of Dogger Bank. Each phase has a capacity of 1.2 gigawatts, and is expected to generate around 6 terawatt-hours of electricity a year.

The agreement builds upon previous deal to purchase 480MW from Dogger Bank A and B which means that Shell has secured 720MW.

Despite making significant inroads into renewable energy, shell remains a global giant in the oil and gas sector.
