In preparation for the main 5G auction that has been scheduled for Monday 13th, the mock auction of the 5G spectrum holds on Friday. This was disclosed by NCC’s Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta during a workshop in Kano.

Danbatta said that the roll out of the 5G is expected to be carried out in phases, beginning with major cities in the country where there is need for high quality broadband. He added that the two slots to be auctioned will be picked up by successful bidders at the end of the main auction on Monday.

The Nigerian Communications Commission said that the 5G plan will allow efficient allocation of spectrum for 5G deployment and ensure that it is effectively deployed in major cities by 2025.
