Apple has offered stock bonuses of up to $180,000 to its employees as a new effort to retain them and prevent defections to rival companies. The decision was made after a hundred of its employees signed an agreement with Meta within a few months.

The stock bonuses which, range from $50,000 to $180,000 and will vest for four years, is meant to serve as incentive for the employees to stay at the iPhone manufacturing company.

The bonuses were also made as a reward to some of the high-performing workers.

The company also revealed it would issue $1,000 bonuses to all corporate, retail and technical-support employees so they can purchase home equipment.

It further said it expects corporate employees to work from the office at least three days per week, while hardware engineers will be required to log four or five days a week.

It was however reported that not all engineers are receiving the profitable bonuses, and the reason why some are not eligible remains unknown.

Meanwhile, Meta has continued to increase its efforts to poach engineering talents from Apple as it keeps baiting some of the software and hardware engineers with an increasingly significant salary.

This hasn’t been a one-way street as Apple has also poached some key Meta employees.

Apple currently stands as the largest information technology company by revenue and, since January 2021, has been rated as the world’s most valuable company.
