The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) has announced the opening of applications for its 2022 TEF Entrepreneurship Program for African entrepreneurs.

It stated that entrepreneurs in the 54 African countries with business ideas or existing businesses under 5 years are eligible to apply for the $5,000 seed capital.

A statement from the foundation expressed that the 2022 edition of the programme comes with mentorship, business management training and more.

In the outgoing year, the TEF disbursed $24.75 million to 5,000 entrepreneurs across Africa.

The CEO of TEF, Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu, expressed that the foundation is constantly blown away by the quality of businesses that come from Africa every year which motivates the foundation to scale up efforts to empower even more entrepreneurs on the continent.

The Founding Trustee of TEF, Dr Awele Elumelu also stated that with hope, through the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme, business leaders and captains of industries would become who they are meant to be.

Being the only African-funded entrepreneurship programme, the TEF has empowered 15,847 African entrepreneurs with a non-refundable seed capital of $5,000 each, coupled with 12 weeks of training in business management, access to experienced mentors, and membership to Africa’s largest entrepreneurial ecosystem.
