Pfizer Inc. disclosed today that it has signed a deal worth $5.3 billion to supply Covid-19 antiviral pills to the US Government.
It would be recalled that earlier this month, BOOM Television reported Pfizer’s disclosure that it has developed a Covid 19 antiviral drug called Paxlovid which reduces high risk of hospitalization or death from Covid-19.
Beginning from this year, Pfizer would begin to deliver 10 million courses of its Covid-19 oral antiviral drug to the US government.
The secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human services, Xavier Becerra said that the treatment could help accelerate the move out of the pandemic by offering another life saving option to people who contract Covid-19.
