Amidst increasing fears of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19, Saudi Arabia has banned all flights from Nigeria to prevent a spread of the virus into the Kingdom. This was disclosed in a circular issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia.

The document stated that all non-citizens with a history of travel to Nigeria would be prevented from entering Saudi Arabia until further notice.

Regardless of immunisation status, home quarantine will be applied for a period of five days to Saudi citizens coming from Nigeria.

Legal procedures will be initiated against anyone who fails to comply with the circular issued by GACA.

Saudi Arabia’s ban means that Nigeria has been directly banned from four countries including the United State, Canada, Indonesia and Hong Kong
