The Nigeria’s Governors Forum has disclosed during its 36th teleconference meeting that the World Bank is set to roll out ₦329.53 billion to fund a large-scale Conditional Cash Transfer programme in Nigeria.

The NGF stated that it has resolved that all states should set up panels to oversee the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) initiative so as to ensure that it aligns with the vision of the state government which is to reduce poverty by making welfare programs conditional upon the receivers’ action.

According to officials of the humanitarian ministry, millions of Nigerians have received cash transfers from the Federal Government through the CCT programme.
