Deals worth $36billion were recorded at the just concluded second Intra-Africa Trade Fair which held in Durban, KwaZuluNatal, South Africa.

The fair had 11,828 participants from over 128 countries around the world in attendance while 27,000 attended via the IATF Virtual platform, bringing the total of participants to 39,000.

The Managing Director of Afreximbank’s Intra-African Trade Initiative, Mrs Kanayo Awani disclosed that the amount of deals recorded exceeded the US$32 billion mark set at the IATF 2018. She added that IATF 2021 had 1,161 exhibitors including 838 companies from 59 countries of which 46 came from Africa to showcase their goods and services.

Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who is the Chairman of the IATF Advisory Council, congratulated the organisers for the success of the event which, he described as a movement towards an economically reliable Africa.
