The Confident Black Women (TCBW) has expressed dissatisfaction over Nigeria’s inability to maximize the opportunities by the global body care industry.

This was established by TCBW Co-founder, Mr Christian Love during a stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos.

Love stated that the global beauty value chain in 2020 was put at $483 billion from which Nigeria has failed to benefit.

He noted that North America and the Asia Pacific have been the biggest beneficiary of the industry which is projected to generate $716 billion by 2025.

He further mentioned that the hair care tops the beauty industry and it owns 24% of the $483 billion generated by the industry.

Mr Love stated further that a major reason why Nigeria has not been visible in the beauty value chain, is inability to meet up with global standards.

To bridge this gap, TCBW is working with the National Business and Technical Examinations Board, NABTEB to make the hair industry a certified course within the country.

He added that in the coming year, TCBW plans to train at least 1,000 people.

While speaking at the award presentation, the Country Director for Instant Arewa Hair, Angela Eyekosi, said that the recent 120 minutes Hair Challenge hosted by Instant Arewa Hair and TCBW was to promote the the hair-making industry.
